The Sky is Falling.. Nope Just Leaves!

Everyday I wake up and I look out into my yard and thus I see more leaves. I have yet to understand how it is that my house seems to have most leaves in its yard but yet we have no trees... hmmm one has to wonder.

Anyhoot, the boys and I decided to enjoy the crisp air and sunshine in the yard, CLEANING UP my neighbors leaves, that have gracefully found themselves a home in my yard, my drive way, my house, my van, my ... well you get the hint.

Halloween Past?

I know I'm late, but like they always say... better late then never

This year was Maddock's actual "Trick or Treating" experience and he liked it, well he liked the lollipops, didn't care for the rest of it, especially the outfit.

McKinlee on the other hand was extremely into his costume... and of course all the candy!

Play Time or Nap Time?

After all the baking and cooking Sunday morning, oh yeah I almost forgot, while baking the hot apple pie, homemade chicken noodle soup was cooking on the stove too :)~ I love to cook/bake. I should have been a chef, I missed my calling!

Anyhow, after all that it was time to work outside, I had 200 bulbs to plant and dirt to haul into the front of the house. Lee hauled I planted. The boys played on the swing set. Well at least they did for a while, then nap time arrived. Well at least for one it did...

Apple Pie? Yummie!!

Sunday, morning I decided I was going to be Betty Crocker! I broke out the apple peeler, Lee got it all setup and mounted down to the counter, Maddock got his little tail up next to me on the counter and McKinlee greased up his elbow. And the peeling began -- and some eating --

After the peeling was finished and the mixture was ready I prepared the pie for cooking

Nothing says lovin' like hot apple pie next to a warm cozy fire,

Yes, that is Bambi above my fireplace, thank you Lee!

Leaves, Pumpkins and Apples

Last weekend we took a ride up through the mountains for a few reasons, 1) to find a pumpkin patch, 2) to find an apple orchard and 3) look at the leaves changing color. We picked an absolutely beautiful day... We drove up through the Blue Ridge Parkway, it was breath taking -- YES the edge! Just kidden but that was too. The mountains, trees and all the beautiful colors was just delightful against the blue sky...

So, check, we completed so far one of three tasks at hand... now off we roll. As we continued to look for a pumpkin patch, which we never found. We stopped and shopped the Tanger Outlets in Blowing Rock and I at least was able to get this picture...

I apologize for the crappy photos, they were taken with the cell phone.

Alas, we did find an apple orchard, however the bees were so crazy McKinlee was freaking out so we did NOT pick our own but we did purchase fresh picked apples for baking and eating :)

Three Amigos!!

Saturday night was dinner and a movie night. Our friends Kelly and Tim came over with dinner -- Thank you AGAIN! After dinner the monkeys were getting restless so it was movie time, what movie you ask -- Transformers, of course. I popped some popcorn, made cups for the kids, with a couple little sweet treats tucked in (starbursts/skittles) and the movie began...

Picture Day!

So, last week McKinlee arrives home from school and in his bookbag is a slip for "Picture Day" I was excited because since he has gotten older I don't take them to have their photos done I wait for the school/daycare to do them. Well I pull out the information packet and OMG the prices were off the wall. I'm sorry but $14.00 for a 3x5 I DON'T THINK SO! So I took some photos myself, you know what they came out really nice too...

Saturday Morning Breakfast at the Moy's

I just thought that this picture was so funny that it totally deserved a post.

Fencing Project Begins

Lee started the fence project about a month ago, and let us just say this truly is a PROJECT. The pictures below are only the beginning. He has been breaking his back trying to dig through this Carolina Clay just to put the posts in, so we broke down and rented a hole digger -- thank you Mr. Neighbor for offering to pay for it and then ignoring us when it showed up. That's another story but any how below are two pics, I will take more as progress continues.

Things that go BUMP in the Night...

Okay so for the past several days I've been up way before normal. Like for instance this morning, human alarm clock 2:34 a.m. The funny thing is yesterday's human alarm clock 2:34 a.m. Maybe I should play the lottery? BTW -- human alarm is me NOT Maddock.

So here I sit at 5:17 a.m. waiting for the time that I actually have to start getting ready for work and my daily ritual. And I ponder and decide let me putter along the blogs and see what I can read. Maybe something interesting might pop out and hit me. And of course I stroll upon some blogs that I find great amusement in, or frustration or maybe just out right anger.

Can I just say this one more time, one should NOT throw stones when living in a glass house. Okay okay... I had this ex co-worker remember my blog "Can you say hypocrite?" well yes this was regarding an ex co-worker and I read her blog this morning and it really irritates me and I don't know why but it does. She continues to blame the world around her for her misfortunes. For instance we both had our children in the same daycare. I love my daycare, never had a problem, and they have always been good to my children. Her on the other hand, bad mouths them every chance she gets and blames some of her children's problems on them. I'm sorry but you are the MOM right? Don't you think they are your problem not theirs? I'm just saying, I thought the person that gave birth is this one responsible, but I could be wrong -- I'm not perfect.

And another thing, remember my blog about one shouldn't talk shit about ones ex-job until they know that they will not return??? AGAIN I REPEAT MYSELF, STOP BLOGGING SHIT, the walls have eyes, and they actually can read too! (this is just HINT)

WOW, its the small things in life that make you feel good sometimes. Okay I will ponder some thoughts again and... until then I have to shower.
