Before school ended McKinlee was learning about plants/flowers and how they grow. So needless to say my son asked actually “begged” to grow his own garden. Seriously he wanted nothing more than to grow watermelon. He said to me, “mommy I want to grow watermelons for us so you don’t have to buy them anymore.” Very sweet, so Lee took the boys one night to Home Depot and bought some vegetable plants and YES two watermelon plants. I hate to say this – the watermelon plants aren’t doing so well. In learning all about how plants and flowers grow, he also learned that when you plant seeds, water them and lots of sunlight they too will grow. So while at Home Depot, McKinlee wanted string bean plants – Sorry – Green Bean seeds. So now we have lots of green bean plants growing. Have a look below – McKinlee is very proud of HIS garden!
