Sick Baby :(

Christmas night was a little bit of a rough night with Maddock still not feeling 100% I had him stay home with Lee from daycare on Wednesday. By the time I got home he seemed to be feeling better and no fever so I decided to send him daycare on Thursday, to be safe I gave him some Motrin just before dropping him off. Well about 4:00 daycare called to say Maddock had a small temp 100.5 at 3:15. I called Lee and had him go get him. By evening last night Maddock sounded awful, really bad congestion in his chest I felt so bad for him, he couldn't breath, so sleep was out too. Lee stayed up with him most of the night because I had to work today.

So this morning at 9:01 I call the doctor's office -- appointment made for 11:00 Lee calls me at 11:21, NOW remember just took the munchkin on Monday -- common cold remember?!?! Verdict is -- double ear infection, bronchitis so bad just on verge of pneumonia and he now weighs 17lbs 1oz. Okay I'm sorry but what the heck -- 3 days ago common cold now this? I think honestly that the doctor is trying to cover his butt and I am not a happy mommy. My poor baby is suffering because these stupid doctor's don't want to give out antibiotics anymore. That's crap!

She gave him an antibiotic and said we have get him to take at least an ounce of formula for nutrition, he's lost too much weight in such a short period of time. ????? I'm confused the baby can't breath, his ears hurt and you want him to swallow a bottle -- ummm HELLO McFly? is there anyone out there? I'm seeing some difficulty in this task but yeah okay. And through all of this Maddock got his first tooth on Christmas Eve :)

The Christmas Holiday Has Arrived!

Christmas Eve started off with a sick baby and a visit to the doctor's office, only to have them tell me that he has a common cold and there isn't anything they can give him. However, they weighed him in at 18lbs 5oz, chunk. But he's my chunk of burnin' love! After a day of craziness, last minute shopping and everything else we got ourselves dressed up for the children's mass at our church. Okay so mass started at 4:30 we get there at 4:00 holy cow no place to sit. You would think that the church was giving away money -- oh wait we were giving them money. Anyhoot, mass was really nice, but loud (note to self -- next year no children's mass). After mass we headed over the bridge and through the woods to grandma's house we go :) We spent Christmas Evening with Grandma, Pop Pop, Uncle Wayne, Aunt Carolyn, Casey and Nicole. Mom made finger foods which was really nice not to have a heavy meal. Unfortunately, Maddock was still not feeling 100%, but we had a nice time anyhow. McKinlee of course got toys and was loving that how could he not. On our way home from Grandma's they announced on the radio that Santa was in Mississippi and heading our way next. Of course, McKinlee had to hurry up and get home so he could get to bed otherwise Santa would pass by Shady Brook Road. We got home got McKinlee in bed and he was pretty much out for the count after about 1/2 hour.

Christmas Morning!

McKinlee woke up around 8:00 to presents from Santa under the tree. His words were, "see Mommy I told you Santa thought I was a little bit good." Well all I could say to that was your right kiddo he sure did. A little advice to some newer parents or those to be new parents, when your child gets about 1/2 way through the pile and can't or should I say -- won't open anymore, you know then Santa shopped wayyyy toooo much!!! So McKinlee, got a Nintendo DS, games, board games, clothes, other toys and then he got the Wii or maybe actually Lee got the Wii In any event the family now has a Wii -- Guitar Hero is the BOMB! We spent the day basically playing Wii and Nintendo DS with McKinlee. Originally we had planned to go to Wayne and Carolyn's for dessert and drinks but Maddock was up all night and was still under the weather so decided to kill those plans and just stay home.

FIRE! FIRE! FIRE!

Okay so here ya have it, when Lee turned our car port into our family room he decided to move our dryer vent from the brick in front of the house (UGLY) to the soffit, which by the way hides it and looks much nicer :) However, now that the weather has gotten colder you can see the heat in the air from the dryer... hence the folks that continuously had to stop by Saturday morning, and when I say morning I'm talking like 7:00 a.m., to inform us that our house may be on FIRE! After about the fourth person knocking and Lee running out the front door to tell the people in our driveway that it is our dryer vent and I was drying clothes, Lee decided okay I'm taping a note to the front which reads "If you are here to tells about the smoke coming out of our roof to the right of the fireplace... it is our dryer vent, Thank you" As Lee is taping this note to the front door he hears the sirens, joking and laughing about it he comes in the house and says the fire department is on its way. I laughed at him and I said are you serious. He says nah just kidden... next thing ya know 3 fire trucks and the fire chief in my front yard. Go Figure! Well, so the saga continues.... Word of knowledge for today, when driving down Shady Brook Road in High Point, North Carolina you happen to see a house that looks like there may be what looks like smoke coming out of the roof... its NOT I just trying to do my laundry! But thanks for the input :)

Thanksgiving Day!

Prior to starting off our actual holiday of sorts -- Lee began construction on our roof. He was able to tear off a quarter of the roof in the back of the house (where the leak is) on Wednesday, and was able to refelt and shingle that same portion today. After he cleaned and relaxed for a while we headed to Wayne's house for some leftovers and dessert. Most importantly to see family that came in from all over the place. (I will post pictures of the roof another time)

Mckinlee started the holiday morning off hanging out with Libby. His most recently best friend. Don't ask because I'm not so sure but he's been all about the dogs these days.

Black Friday

My day started off taking the boys to daycare, YEAH! I'm actually getting a me day, well a me and Lee day. We went shopping for a little while, had lunch at Tripps (yes, I got toasted off one drink). Then we met up with gang at the bowling alley for some fun. Well, not so much fun for me but we all had a good time. I bowled a 45, I believe Julia bowled better then me. We called it quits around 4:30 - - headed home to get the boys and pack them up to go to grandma's for "Italian" night!

Nancy made homemade Baked Ziti, mom made homemade meatballs, add the bread and salad and there ya have it -- "Italian" night at the Wellinsky's (my maiden name).

I got Maddock all dressed up to go -- hence the Rocky Balboa look, well according to Lee. I love that hat, he's so cute.

Everyone got to enjoy the little guy, but his Aunt Sandi was the one that stole the sugar...

My favorite pic of the night however is the now and then... we have Maddock now (age 5 months) and then we have Maddock then (age 72)...

Awards Day!

I am so proud! McKinlee received his first awards today, one for perfect attendance and a ribbon for knowing his colors. YEAH McKinlee!!
I have to vent just a little though. I thought the awards ceremony was nice and very thoughtful BUT just because you are an at home mom and have all the time in the world to stay at the school and donate your time DOES not give your child the right to get every award friggin' possible. Come on now, one award is sufficient, two is hitting the edge BUT three okay that just ticks me off. Yes, my child did get one, BUT there were many children that got NONE! So my feelings are -- its a great thought and a huge motivational experience, but one award per child would be GREAT! Yeah we know your kid is the BEST in everything, but he's not the only kid in the school. Okay I feel better now, sorry! Go McKinlee, keep up the good work! I love you buddie - Love Mom!

Happy Halloween!!

Well, needless to say Halloween is now over, thankfully! Unfortunately we have wayyyyy to much candy! Thank you grandma, Aunt Angie, Uncle Dennis.. and all the wonderful people who love to give kids candy! I believe I need to take a class in Sugar Rush 101 ?!?! When I find the class I will be sure to let all parents know about it too.

Maddock actually had two costumes, one for day care and then the warmer one to go out trick-o-treating with big brother. McKinlee had fun -- of course. However, he did prefer to eat his Happy Meal over getting candy. that only last a short period of time though, basically through the fries. Maddock had a blast staring at all the kids, but let me tell ya, 8 o'clock hit and he was definitely not gonna let us not know that it was feeding time.

Say Cheese!

Today was picture day in the Moy household. I must say the boys behaved very well, but after about the 40th shot they both had enough. Maddock started to cry and McKinlee started to flirt with the photographer. But we did get 49 shots and ended up walking home with 5 GREAT poses...

I'm taking orders for picture pose and size, just let me know. I know I know, I'm being biased BUT I have to say it... I really do make good looking kids, don't I? I'm sorry Lee helped too!

Now that I've bragged my babies up as much as possible, I'll let you enjoy the photos and be the judge on their looks. YES, McKinlee chose his hair style for the day, but mom did all the spiking!

Christening Day

Well, the day started off pretty good. Maddock woke up at the crack of dawn along with McKinlee. Of course, McKinlee was not gonna allow his Aunt Fran to sleep in though. But we made it through the morning without killing him.

We had a few hours to kill prior to the main event of the day and since Maddock was so happy, daddy decided to try him out in his johnny jumper (that he still can't reach the floor with). Even though the feet don't reach the floor he loves when you bounce him around in it. Well, enough fun and games, its time to start to get ready.

The big event went very well, Maddock was very fussy, he was fighting his nap like crazy! Unfortunately, my gracefulness shined brightly at the church. Fortunately, for me you are not allowed to video tape or take photos during the Christening, therefore, no one caught me hitting the hard marble floor behind the baptismal font. Apparently there are two steps and a ramp, that I decided to take fall on -- hence the black & blue ankle, the extremely sore thigh muscle too! Other then that, the Christening was beautiful.

After the formal celebration we all posed for some pictures and then headed over to Ham's by the Palladium for some grub, where some how the waiter they fired was the same one that took my reservations. Hence, there was no reservation for us :( We had to wait for few minutes for them to pull something together for us but it all turned out well -- we got free food for the inconvenience. Thank you waiter dude!!

Bad Day

Today, we were up early, 6 a.m. However, we did have tons of cleaning to do, Aunt Fran was coming to town for Maddock's Christening on Sunday. Apparently, Maddock was NOT happy with me sitting him in his bouncy seat while I cleaned, but eventually he calmed down.

After the cleaning was finished it was time to get showered, dressed and head out to the airport. When I say "we" I mean Maddock and I. McKinlee and his daddy went to swimming lessons, first day of his new class :) -- with any luck he will actually jump in from the side of the pool. I'm guessing not, but one can hope.

Once we picked Fran up and dropped her stuff off at the house we headed out for the day. Shop 'til we drop, just like the good ole days :) Shopping obviously did not sit well with McKinlee, hence the throw up on the Payless Shoe Store floor :( So much for shopping. We decided to call it quits for the day, we are gonna chill out for the evening... 8:00 p.m. We have a BIG day tomorrow.

Swimming Lessons
Well its Saturday morning and we are up at the crack of dawn (... thank you Maddock -- my little alarm clock). Today is a special Saturday morning for McKinlee, why you ask? Today, McKinlee will graduate from his Pike Swimming Class and move up to Eel. We are snapping some early morning photos and then its time to get ready for the first BIG event of the day.

This afternoon Maddock will be spending some time with his Uncle Wayne, Aunt Carolyn, Casey and Nicole (his cousins), while mom, dad and McKinlee go see Walking with Dinosaurs the Live Experience.

Dino Show
We made it back from the prehistoric time alive and well. We had a GREAT time. The show was so exciting that the 96 minute story seemed to take about 20 minutes. McKinlee loved the dinosaurs and I was so surprised to hear him call out each of their names. I don’t even know what each dinosaur is called, but the 5 year old does. How impressive! If you ever have the chance to see the show, take the kids. Its loud but not scary!
